What we do

Environment & Bio-Diversity Education

Safwan Foundation’s primary objective is to improve awareness among students about understanding of the environment & bio-diversity with a view to promoting the conservation and sustainable use of nature and natural resources, leading to a better environment and a better quality of life. To this end, Safwan Foundation develops innovative programmes and educational material, and builds capacity in the field of Environment & Bio-diversity education for sustainable development. Safwan Foundation has largest and biggest indigenous portal of Environment & Bio-diversity education with a global perspective for students of Pakistan. We named this portal “Qudrat Kahani” which means “The nature’s Tale”. It is a landmark in environment & biodiversity education for 36.9 million students of this country in particular.

Agriculture Development

Pakistan is an agriculture based country with most of its population living in rural areas practicing agriculture, yet it is one of the many developing nations facing a serious food crisis that is speculated to cause wide scale food riots if the problems are not taken care of at the earliest.

Safwan Foundation is currently involved in projects ranging from Tissue Culture to Water Management, we have a broad horizon in front of us and we feel that there is a lot more to do. And this feeling has not been put aside; we are constantly striving to bring the rays of hope and long lasting prosperity to the marginalized communities in rural areas of the country. Having expertise in areas of biodiversity, ecological agriculture, natural resource management, sericulture development, fisheries, modern seed technology, forestry and range management, women empowerment, food security, social mobilization, and live stock management.

 Alternative Renewable Energy

Pakistan is a power hungry nation as its poulation is soaring at alarming rate.Energy problem is getting worst by each passing day.Pakistan is blessed with abundantly available and inexhaustible Renewable Energy (RE) resources, which if tapped effectively can play a considerable role in contributing towards energy security and energy independence of the country. Given the current global energy scenario in general and Pakistan’s energy scenario in particular, the adoption and deployment of ARE technologies makes perfect sense as it inherently favours indigenous, inexhaustible energy resources which also happen to be efficient options by default. This is also in line with the objective of the Safwan Foundation to develop RE technologies in the country.

Afforestation-Indigenous Flora First.

Safwan Foundation is currently involved in plantation of indigenous trees in central Punjab to restore the lost habitat of our precious fauna. We are working with WWF-Pakistan for this noble cause.
